Keller finds taker for old Winn-Dixie store

Years after Winn-Dixie's mass exodus from the Dallas-Fort Worth market, Keller has a bite on its vacant shell.

Carrollton-based Tabani Group has backfilled the 85,000-square-foot Keller Crossing shopping center, once anchored by the grocer, with Ace Hardware, Tuesday Morning and a pet store. All three are in the former Winn-Dixie shell. Plus, the developer has plans to add on another 38,000 square feet of retail space, anchored by Stein Mart.

At press time, the Keller City Council was expected to consider $290,000 in incentives for the project, including a three-year sales tax rebate and a reduction on building permit fees.

Keller Crossing is located near the intersection of F.M. 1709 and Keller-Smithfield Road.
